A friend of mine is a sports agent for some low to mid level talent in the National Hockey League. I once asked him what exactly it was that he did.
He said to me:
“I do the same thing all agents do. My job is simple. First, I promote all the great things my client can bring to the table. Second, I downplay all his weaknesses. Lastly, and this is the most important thing of all, I significantly increase the cost to sign my client and profit from it.”
Hey, at least the guy is honest.
