Second Chances Doesn’t Make The Preliminary Cut

With the Long List for the Fantasy-Faction Anthology released, you will notice that Second Chances did not make the cut.  Since the six stories to be published will be selected from the long list, Second Chances is now free as the proverbial bird.

I haven’t looked at the story since the moment I hit the submit button.  Will probably put another look at it onto my to do list.  But right now I am busily working through the final edits of Under the Darkened Moon.  Right now my novel is in Chapter 44 of live read editing and chapter 39 of FINAL edits.

I missed my self-imposed deadline of September 30th already.  The new self-imposed deadline is October 31st.

You gonna think about self pubbing it maybe?

Haven’t thought about it much wynnie. Trying to get Under the Darkened Moon done.

I think you should get it up on amazon if you ask me. I think it’s a great story that people would like.

Thanks for the encouragement TD. But being just a approximately 6,000 word short story I would have to probably put it up for free and I don’t want to do that. I would have to make it part of a collection and I don’t have anything else right now.

You have that one story you wrote back in college about the werewolf. You know, BEFORE they were cool? And what about that one about younger Sheala from that novel you abandoned years ago? Oh, and that one about the flames! I love that one! It’s creepy cool!

See, there’s four right there if you include Second Chances! Slap it together and ask $0.99!

  6. Mathias Cavanaugh Says:

None of those stories are in a publishable state. All That Glitters is 8,000 words. Sheala’s “origin” story is only 3,000. The Flames is only 3,000 too. So that’s only 20,000 words. Might be a little light on the word count to publish as a collection.

I think 20,000 words is acceptable for $0.99 price.
